My daughter encouraged me try alternatives to meat (i.e., reduce meat) and recommended Minimalist Baker as a good guide to follow.
To date have made a few of your dishes (recipe), for example:
– SWEET POTATO CHICKPEA BUDDHA BOWL
– EASY CHANA MASALA
– Thai Massaman Curry
In all cases the dishes are sweet, something we do NOT enjoy in savory main course dishes. Is there something you can suggest that I may be doing incorrectly that is causing this or some variant that I should try to get rid of the sweetness. Excluding the maple syrup doesn’t seem to make a difference.
Hi Paul, hmm, we wouldn’t think they would be sweet without the maple syrup! But perhaps flavors such as sweet potato, tomato, coconut aminos, and coconut milk taste sweeter to you? Some brands of coconut aminos are sweeter than others. We prefer Coconut Secret. Perhaps try one of these: Roasted Broccoli Pasta Salad, Garlicky Green Beans, Curried Cauliflower Rice.
We’ll add it to our ideas list! In the meantime, we wonder if it might work to use this recipe as a guide, replacing the peanut sauce with BBQ sauce. Let us know if you try it!
