I guess it is sweet and salty. We used to get it Aldi and they seem to have discontinued it. We have been working on recreating it. Here is an effort:
2C beet juice ( about 2 large beets)
1/4 C balsamic vinegar
1 T lemon juice
2 T orange juice
1/4-1/2 tsp orange zest
1 1/2 tsp dijon mustard
1/4 tsp dry hot mustard powder
Onion salt
Plain non dairy yogurt
onion
We are still tweaking it. Jump in and let us know what you come up with.
Speaking of beets, a favorite salad of mine is beet salad.
It’s the only thing I use a canned vegetable for….but I guy whole beets and chop them up with scallions and red onions and celery. Mix it with plain nondairy yogurt, salt, pepper and horseradish. Best made a day early. Before I committed to a plant based diet I used sour cream, and I think it had roughly chopped eggs. I bet you could improve on this also.
I posted a beet salad dressing recipe we are working on at our house and I forgot to add the sweet to the sweet and salty. I use maple syrup a lot in cooking but it may be too flavorful and change the dressing too much.I just don’t remember if I liked it in the dressing. Stevia or Swerve may be a better choice.

One of the best salad dressings I have had is a beet dressing. I kept hoping to see it here

Ooo, that sounds amazing! Do you know what else was in it? Or the flavor profile? We’d love to try creating something like that!
