It’s important to select a ripe, juicy, sweet watermelon (this is key for best flavor!). Choose a seedless watermelon, or remove seeds before blending
If you prefer chilled watermelon juice, scoop and refrigerate your watermelon BEFORE blending so it’s nice and cool and refreshing and ready for serving right away (optional).
Add sliced watermelon to a high-speed blender and blend on high until well blended. You can add a bit of lime juice to taste at this point if you’d prefer some acidity. Or include other optional add-ins such as fresh ginger for zing or coconut water for sweetness and electrolytes.
Straining is optional (we recommend a fine mesh strainer) if you prefer a smoother, pulp-free juice. We don’t find it necessary, though.
Enjoy fresh or over ice. If you can’t enjoy it right away, store leftovers in the refrigerator up to 2-3 days. Or, freeze into popsicles or ice cube molds. Watermelon ice cubes can be blended into smoothies, margaritas, or frozen cocktails or used as ice cubes in sparkling water or tonics for a delicious and colorful treat!
